The application to Telluride House is designed to be challenging but not intimidating. It consists of several essays and an interview. (Telephone interviews are possible.)
Although the essays require at least as much thought and effort as many university admission applications, they do allow candidates to show what they have to offer in their own terms. The House has accepted members as much for their artistic portfolios and scientific research as for their essays and interviews.
Applicants must enroll as full-time University of Michigan students while in the House. We encourage you to contact our Recruitment Committee about House events you would like to attend.
Applications from current U-M students are considered in the autumn; applications from incoming freshmen and transfers are considered in the spring. All selected students join the House in the fall of the following academic year.
Application and Information for the 2012-13 Application Cycle
At this time, applications are being accepted from current University of Michigan students. (Applications from incoming (including transfer) students will be due in the Spring of 2013.) Download the Telluride House application and brochure.
Completed applications (Parts I and II) must be sent by email to peg.dufresne(at)tellurideassociation.org. Official transcripts and letters of recommendation (Part III) should be mailed or delivered to:

Complete applications (all three parts) must be received by 5:00 PM on OCTOBER 22, 2012. Please plan ahead to ensure that all materials-- including mailed pieces-- arrive no later than the stated due date and time. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
Candidates will be notified if they were selected for interviews within approximately three weeks of the submission deadline, while final scholarship decisions will be made within approximately two weeks of the interview.
Note: Only current UM students should apply in the Fall Application Cycle (due in October 2012). Incoming University of Michigan students (including transfer students) should apply in the Spring (2013) Application Cycle.
