Now accepting applications for the Mansfield-Wefald Thesis Prize through May 12, 2017

16 Mar Now accepting applications for the Mansfield-Wefald Thesis Prize through May 12, 2017

The Mansfield-Wafald Thesis Prize was established at Telluride Convention 1994 to honor the memory of Mary Mansfield and Eric Wefald, two Association members who died tragically in 1989. The prize of $1,000 will be awarded by a committee of Association members for the best scholarly thesis written by a Telluride associate who will have completed his or her final year of undergraduate education in the 2016-17 academic year.

To apply, complete the attached form and send it, along with a 1- to 2-page thesis abstract, and a digital copy of the thesis to the Ann Arbor Office. Please put “Mansfield-Wefald Thesis Prize” in the subject line. We ask that remove name and identifying information from the thesis document and file name itself as an anonymous process is fairer to all applicants.

The winner will be announced at the 2017 Telluride Association Convention, scheduled from June 15-18 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. For further details, and information about past recipients, see the Awards page.

Deadline

To be considered, submit your application by May 12, 2017. The committee will provide some flexibility for those with later thesis deadlines, however please contact the Office to announce your intentions to submit.
